Day 17 was a difficult day for the detox although it was a fun day in San Francisco. I brought my Blendtec Blender along with foods for a green smoothie each day. Lunch was at an Indian restaurant which offered several vegetarian entre’s. It would have been so much easier to stick with the detox at a vegan/vegetarian restaurant but that I couldn’t convince the others I was with to try that. Everyone agreed on the Indian food. It provided the vegetables, spices, heat, and variety.
While the food was good it was oily; too much oil for someone who hadn’t eaten cooking oils for 16 days. I really “felt” that in my body. Funny how a detox can so easily take you away from eating what’s wrong to what’s good for you and then make it obvious about the changes when you switch back.
There was also a great rice pudding with coconut, cinnamon, cardamon. Very delicious. I really want to figure out how to make a good rice pudding. Didn’t eat much for the rest of the day. Just snacked a little on raison and raw almonds, had a big cup of hot water with lemon while babysitting my grandson (That was a best part of the day).
