Anti-Aging Tip #7 – The Sleep Factor

Being able to stay up all night then do a full days work used to be a badge of honor.  Sleep deprivation has become common, even without making it a big deal.  But lack of sleep and aging are nothing to play around with.  Lack of sleep has been linked to obesity, diabetes, high blood pressure and memory problems, even in young adults.   Chronic sleep loss may speed the onset or increase the severity of these age-related conditions.

Several things can affect your sleep as you grow older.  Some include medications, the loss of a loved one, emotional and mental distress.   To get more sleep, make your bedroom your sleeper’s paradise.  Keep the television and other distractions out, make your bed as comfortable as possible and be sure the room is pitch black for the best sleep.
